6. Mother Vérité: A Postpartum Statue at St Mary’s Hospital

On 8 October, the powerful new sculpture Mother Vérité was unveiled on the iconic steps of St Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing, offering an unfiltered portrayal of postpartum reality. Created in collaboration with British artist Rayvenn Shaleigha D’Clark, the statue honours the raw truths of motherhood - from swelling and scars to strength and resilience. Rather than hiding these details, Mother Vérité celebrates them as emblems of creation and endurance.

Commissioned by Frida, the brand known for redefining postpartum care, the piece continues its mission to empower women through honest representation of conception, pregnancy, and the fourth trimester. Following the unveiling, Mother Vérité will move to a semi-permanent home in Portman Square, coinciding with Frieze London Art Fair.
